The gender gap is an international problem and manifests itself in many ways that sometimes we do not even perceive, but the most common are due to cultural, social and religious factors. According to Amnesty International “in Saudi Arabia women cannot vote. In Cameroon, it is the husband who decides whether the woman works or not. Forced marriages are allowed in Sudan. In Guatemala, the law allows the suspension of the sentence for rape if the rapist marries his victim. In Nigeria, family violence is protected by law ”.

These are just some of the cases that clearly show the big gap that exists between both genders and the social and legal discrimination against women. Like these countries, there are many others that consider women incapable of doing the same tasks as men, and consider them irrational and incapable of making important decisions because of how “emotional” we can be. But psychology and medicine have already managed to show that there are no differences in capacities, ambitions and life choices between men and women. However, this myth has become an excuse to relegate women from her abilities and what she can achieve, not allowing her to demonstrate her potential in the political and business arena. In addition to this, it has been demonstrated that a woman who occupies the same position as a man earns much less just for the fact that she is a woman.

We must begin to make visible the role of women in history, highlight the number of women astronomers, biologists, mathematicians, doctors, poets, architects, etc. who have made great contributions to Humanity. We have to show society that we are capable of performing the same jobs and professions as a man, showing all the good things that we have to contribute to the world because a man can learn to express his emotions, at the same time that a woman can learn to manage figures, business, be in charge of a company and even a country. Everything can be learned, do not get carried away by myths and lies about what we can or cannot be.
