WATER IN THE WORLD... WILL IT BE POSSIBLE TO MEET THE 2030 AGENDA?

Access to water in Colombia is classified as a fundamental right, since all people must have access to it to guarantee the necessary hydration and basic health. Not drinking the necessary amount of water can begin to generate alterations in our health, increasing the chances of suffering from digestive diseases, weight gain, skin problems, fatigue, high cholesterol, etc. and in more extreme cases, if dehydration occurs for several days, the body experiences more serious sequelae and can eventually cause the death of the person.

However, at the moment, 2,200 million people in the world do not have access to water. In addition to this, according to UN studies, 297,000 children under the age of five die each year due to poor sanitary conditions or undrinkable water. This makes me question whether it will be possible for the 2030 agenda for sustainable development to achieve this (SDG 6), because according to Antonio Guterres (UN Secretary General) efforts must be quadrupled in order to achieve this.

To conclude, this seems to me to be one of the most important SDGs that should be fulfilled, due to the repercussions on health that this can have and the connection it has with the fulfillment of other SDGs such as: education, reduce inequalities, well being, etc. that can be seen in the mental map and its connection with the lack of water. It seems incredible to me to see the injustice that occurs in the world because the poorest populations are those that have the greatest problems with access to water, which reminds us of the inequality that is occurring in the world. It is important to note that these people who do not have access to water are violating one of their rights (in some cases fundamental) because of how essential it is for our lives.

Finally I want to leave you a question ... Do you think it is possible by 2030 to meet this SDG?
